PHYSICAL EXAMINATION

The most important part of your pet’s veterinary visit is a comprehensive physical exam. A complete physical exam has many components that contribute to the optimal health of your pet. This includes a thorough history, hands on physical exam, home environment, assessment of your pet's health status, and creating a plan for the future.
Determining a baseline for your pet's health status will assist in recognizing changes as your pet ages. Dr. Lauren recommends annual physical exams for the first five years of life. After that, bi-annual physical exams are recommended.

As part of the visit, the doctor will recommend laboratory testing as deemed appropriate, heartworm protection and external parasite prevention, as well as administration of core vaccines to prevent disease.
