ADDITIONAL

SERVICES

WELLNESS EXAMS

Regular examinations are an integral part of the health of your pets. Examinations are an important first line of ensuring the health of your pet. A full physical examination is recommended once to twice a year depending on the age of your pet and current health status.

SURGERY

Spay and neuter are also a vital part of the health of your pet. Spaying and neutering helps decrease chances of cancers and infections in addition to preventing pregnancies.  Dr. Lauren has spayed and neutered over 3500 pets in her career, with over 2500 in the past 5 years alone!

Surgical scheduling is now open in our new office.  Call us at 585-519-4141 to schedule.

EMERGENCY CARE

Emergency appointments are available and are scheduled in home or in office.  If you are unable to reach our staff and are experiencing a true veterinary emergency, please call:

ULTRASOUND SERVICES

We now offer Ultrasound services in home or in clinic.  Call 585-519-4141 to schedule.  Dr. Lauren will perform abdominal ultrasounds, cardiac ultrasounds, pregnancy confirmations, ocular and periocular structures and more.  Abdominal ultrasound is a useful diagnostic tool that reveals internal architecture of your pet's organs including the blood flow in and out of them.  Ultrasound guided biopsies offer a less invasive method of taking samples from internal structures without the need of surgery (limitations apply).

MICROCHIPPING

A pet microchip is the size of a grain of rice and goes beneath your pet's skin. This permanent ID can never be removed or become impossible to read. Online registration uses this ID to contact you and reunite you with your pet.  Microchips can be placed during a routine physical exam or while your pet is having an anesthetic procedure.

VACCINATIONS

Vaccines help prevent many illnesses that affect pets. Vaccinating your pet has long been considered one of the easiest ways to help him live a long, healthy life. Not only are there different vaccines for different diseases, there are different types and combinations of vaccines. Vaccination is a procedure that has risks and benefits that must be weighed for every pet relative to his lifestyle and health. Dr. Lauren will discuss and administer the appropriate vaccinations for your pets needs based on their lifestyle.

DENTAL CARE

Periodontal disease is the most common clinical condition occurring in adult dogs and cats.  By three years of age, over 70% of dogs and cats have evidence of periodontal disease. Unfortunately, other than bad breath, there are few signs of the disease process evident to the owner, and professional dental cleaning and periodontal therapy often comes too late to save teeth. As a result, periodontal disease is usually under-treated, and may cause multiple problems in the oral cavity.  The disease may also be associated with damage to internal organs in some patients as they age. Dental prophylaxis procedures with necessary extractions are not currently available due to change in office location but will be coming soon!

LABORATORY TESTING

Routine and advanced testing can be performed in the comfort of your home. We recommend annual screening for heartworm and tick borne diseases as well as screening fecal for internal parasites. Baseline bloodwork at any early age is recommended so that changes may be noted as your pet gets older.  Early detection of bloodwork changes aid in the prevention and postponement of disease onset.

TELEMEDICINE

Telemedicine appointments are a wonderful option for clients with transportation concerns.  With a thorough history and video evaluation, Dr. Lauren can help manage most medical conditions that do not require laboratory testing or imaging.  Medications and prescription diets can be sent directly to your home through our online pharmacy.

QUALITY OF LIFE AND END OF LIFE CARE

Coping with the loss of a pet is one of the most difficult experiences a pet parent will face. Whether your pet is approaching their golden years or has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, it’s important to calmly guide the end-of-life experience and minimize any discomfort or distress.

As your pet’s health declines, you may elect to care for your pet at home—with the supervision of a veterinarian—or you may decide to end his suffering with euthanasia.  Dr. Lauren can help work with you to determine what may be the best decision for your pet.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

For 11 years Maxi has been the pet of my family
I have visited different vets looking for his best well-being. unfortunately,
I have always had that feeling that I am an economic transaction. One month
ago, Maxi's physical feeling has been very delicate and was thinking it was
the end. It happened to meet Dr. Lauren who with her professionalism, kindness
and enthusiasm has managed to return Maxi to a normal state. Thank you very
much. With all our appreciation Valencia family

Dr. Wisser was wonderful with my dog. She was on time, distracted him when he needed his vaccinations by giving him a healthy treat, examined him and explained everything to us very politely. I think her hours and pricing are reasonable and she has a wealth of knowledge and compassion for animals. We will certainly call on her again.

Dr. Lauren is empathetic, kind, and understanding. She has cared for my fur-babies for years and was incredible when I had to make a hard decision about long-term care for a very special cat. Thank you!
